This year's conference was AWESOME! Great job, Sandra! Welcome to all of the new members who joined at conference!

Planning is already underway for next year, which will take place in Western PA (location to be determined soon) with a focus on working with special populations. The tentative dates are June 25 and 26, though this could change based upon location and speaker availability.

A number of people approached me during the conference with suggestions for next year's conference, and I'd love to hear them. Please post your ideas to this thread, or email them to sgsteig@ptd.net.

Temple University will be presenting a 6 hour workshop on the history of play therapy at three locations throughout Pennsylvania this spring. The presenter is Jean Camberg, LCSW, RPT-S, and the training will be offered on Saturday, March 28, at Temple University Harrisburg, on Saturday, April 25, in DuBois, PA, and on a date to be announced in May or June in the Pittsburgh area. The cost of the training is $99.00. This training will meet the APT requirements for registration as a play therapist. Contact Jean at jcamberg@verizon.net with questions. Training on history has been identified as the hardest piece of the requirements to find.

Temple University Harrisburg has set August 5 through 8, 2009 for its Second Annual Summer Institute in Play Therapy. The tentative program includes supervision of play therapists, play therapy with children who have been sexually abused, expressive play therapy, and play therapy with autistic spectrum disorders. More information will be posted when available. Email Jean with questions.
