Attachment-Based Assessment and Intervention: Using Play to Strengthen Family Bonds

This workshop includes strategies for assessing and working with children and families.
Participants will learn to use video in both assessment and intervention. Also included will be
practical and playful interventions to increase safety, connection, and healing in relationships.

ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR THE PA APT GUERNEY AWARD

The Guerney Award was established in 2007 to honor Drs. Bernard and Louise Guerney, pioneers in the field of play therapy who were professors at the Pennsylvania State University where they worked to develop child centered play therapy and filial therapy, where parents learned to do therapeutic play sessions with their own children.

ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR THE PA APT CAMBERG SCHOLARSHIP

The Camberg Conference Scholarship was established in 2017 to honor Dr. Jean Camberg, who served on the PA APT Board of Directors for almost 15 years before her death in 2016. She was a professor at the Penn State Altoona campus and she was the primary writer in the development of the Play Therapy Certificate program at Temple University, Harrisburg. Jean greatly enjoyed working with students and regularly brought students to the annual state conference.
This scholarship recognizes a graduate student who expresses through their actions a sincere interest in play therapy.

WHO WE ARE

The Pennsylvania Branch of the Association for Play Therapy (PA-APT) began to organize in 1997 with the mission of promoting the practice of play therapy in a variety of settings including schools, mental health centers, and private practice. Our current membership includes over 150 Professional and Affiliate members from all corners of the state.


Membership in PA-APT provides concurrent membership in the Association for Play Therapy (APT). APT was co-founded by Charles Schaefer, PHD and Kevin O'Connor, PhD in 1982 and includes over 4,000 members across the United States.


The Pennsylvania Association for Play Therapy is an active and growing organization. PA-APT is committed to providing training opportunities for all practitioners including an annual conference, as well as providing networking opportunities and informal contacts between members. The members, regional directors, and officers of PA-APT welcome your membership and participation in this growing organization!
