Jeff Ashby, Ph.D, ABPP, RPT-S is a Professor in the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services at Georgia State University and the Director of the Georgia State Counseling Psychology doctoral program. He is also the Co-Director of the Ken Matheny Center for the Study of Stress, Trauma, and Resilience and is the Director of Georgia State Play Therapy Training Institute. He is a licensed psychologist, a Diplomat of the American Board of Professional Psychology and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. Dr. Ashby has taught ethics at the graduate level for over 20 years and has served as the chair of the Ethics Committee of the International Association of Play Therapy and as an ethics content expert with the State of Georgia Psychology board. He conducts research in the areas of stress and trauma and cognitive structures (e.g. perfectionism), has made over 120 presentations at professional conferences and authored/co-authored more than 100 articles in refereed journals, numerous book chapters, and two books.

Dr. Ashby is an Alum of Penn State University where he received his Ph.D in counseling psychology.
